WIM: From picture prompt to polished piece

What do you imagine when you see the picture above? Could you write a story about it?

That’s what I’m doing this week.

I’ve been invited to participate in Writer In Motion alongside a number of other amazing writers and editors at all stages of their career. The perfect motivation to get this blog launched.

What’s Writer in Motion?

The brainchild of editor Jeni Chappelle and author K.J. Harrowick, WiM is a collaborative online writing and revising project with a goal to illustrate how a writer moves through the creative process from picture prompt to polished piece.

Here’s the plan

Stay tuned!

As I draft my story this week, I’ll check in here about my process. A big issue will be overcoming fear to post a rough draft. Yikes!

If you’re interested, you can also follow #WriterinMotion on Twitter, or check in on the participating authors’ blogs. You can see the core group here, and I’ll post the expanded list in a day or two.

Back to brainstorming!
