Gardener’s notes: June

Here we are on the cusp of summer. Right now the garden is in full glory, enough to distract from the weeds.

When there are lots of weeds, it means there have been lots of words. I’ve been at my desk writing, instead of outside in the garden pondering and mucking about.

But July is right around the corner and there will be a price to pay. The blooms will fade and then the weeds and untended patches will have nowhere to hide.

Kind of like when it’s time to dig in to your “brilliant” story for edits.

For now, I’m putting on my rose-coloured glasses and enjoying the beautiful spots. I hope you do, too.
